Peer Support Mentor

Share your recovery experience and provide one-on-one support to individuals in early recovery.

Time Commitment: 4-6 hours/week

Requirements: 1+ year in recovery, training provided

Location: Duncan Recovery Center

  • Meet with mentees weekly
  • Share recovery experiences
  • Provide encouragement and accountability
  • Attend monthly mentor meetings

Event Coordinator

Help plan and execute workshops, support groups, awareness events, and community activities.

Time Commitment: Flexible, 2-10 hours/month

Requirements: Organizational skills, enthusiasm

Location: Various locations in Cowichan Valley

  • Plan event logistics
  • Coordinate volunteers
  • Manage event setup and cleanup
  • Assist with registration

Administrative Support

Provide office support including data entry, phone calls, filing, and general administrative tasks.

Time Commitment: 3-4 hours/week

Requirements: Basic computer skills, reliable

Location: Duncan office

  • Answer phones and emails

  • Prepare materials for programs
  • Reception and client greeting

Community Outreach

Spread awareness about our programs and connect with community members throughout Cowichan Valley.

Time Commitment: Flexible, 2-6 hours/month

Requirements: Good communication skills

Location: Community events and locations

  • Staff information booths
  • Distribute brochures and resources
  • Attend community events
  • Connect people with services

Workshop Facilitator

Lead or co-facilitate workshops on life skills, recovery topics, or specialized areas of expertise.

Time Commitment: 2-4 hours/month

Requirements: Relevant expertise or lived experience

Location: Duncan Recovery Center

  • Prepare workshop materials
  • Lead group discussions
  • Share knowledge and skills
  • Provide supportive learning environment

General Support

Assist with various tasks including facility maintenance, meal preparation, transportation, and more.

Time Commitment: Flexible, as available
